Here are just a few highlights from this year’s events calendar.
British Firework Championships 14 and 15 August. Enjoy the two night spectacle held over the stunning natural harbour of Plymouth Sound as six of the country’s best pyrotechnicians battle it out for the prestigious national title. This free event can be viewed from The Hoe.
Flavour Fest 17 – 19 August. This is the largest free food festival in the South West and showcases the best of regional produce alongside demonstrations and food theatre from some of the top names in cooking.
Seafood Festival 14 – 16 September. Part of The Marine City Festival, the seafood festival will celebrate Plymouth’s enduring relationship with the sea, its traditional fishing industry and the city’s growing reputation as a gourmet hotspot. Showcasing the fantastic quality seafood available in Plymouth, local and celebrity chefs will demonstrate a range of mouthwatering dishes using catch that’s fresh off the boats. There will be an action packed programme of events.
Marine City Festival 8 – 16 September. Celebrating the city’s links with the sea, the inaugural Marine City Festival combines science and research with food, fun and entertainment designed to educate and entertain and help create a more sustainable future for our seas.
